Café Cliché: affordable restaurant by Michelin Star chef Sidney Schutte

Good news! Sidney Schutte, chef at two Michelin star restaurant Librije’s Zusje in the Waldorf Astoria is opening up another restaurant in Amsterdam! The restaurant will be called Café Cliché. It’ll be a place where you’re always welcome, straight from the office or from home. No dresscode, nothing fancy, but still high quality food. It’ll be a brasserie with a living room feel to it.

Café Cliché will open its doors in August at the Middenweg in Amsterdam East. I once had lunch at the Goldfinch Brasserie at the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam and it was super delicious and very special. Sidney Schutte will stay the executive chef of the Waldorf Astoria, where he and his team strive for the highest level in gastronomy. But he often got the question what he eats at home. What does he make when he’s cooking for friends and family? In his words he makes simple but tasty and funky dishes and puts them on the table to share. At Café Cliché everyone can have a taste of these meals!
