Current Rooftop Restaurant Den Bosch

Den Bosch has got a beautiful new restaurant: Current Rooftop. This rooftop restaurant and bar opened up on top of the brand new The Den Hotel in the Paleiskwartier. On this page I’m telling you all about Current Rooftop Restaurant in Den Bosch.

If you want to visit Current Rooftop Restaurant in Den Bosch, you’ll have to enter at the brand new hotel The Den. The Den is located at the Margratenlaan in the booming Paleiskwartier, right next to the train station. Hotel The Den won an Entree Award this year for the best new hotel. If you want to drive home after your dinner at Current, I absolutely recommend booking a room at Hotel The Den.

After entering the hotel, you’ll take the elevator to the 9th floor. The first thing you’ll notice when you enter the rooftop is the beautiful design. The interior design of Current Restaurant makes you feel like you’re in Paris or New York. It has a high ceiling, a prominent black and gold bar and black and white tiles. And it also has an exterior area to have a drink and a bite to eat on sunny days.

Besides the Current Rooftop Restaurant that you see pictured above, you’ll also find Current Bar on the 9th floor. The intimate bar has a totally other vibe; with its pink chairs and plants it’s very romantic.

The Menu at Current Rooftop Restaurant

In the restaurant you can choose between many dishes on the menu, created by head chef Erwin Oudijk. Oudijk formerly worked at Michelin star restaurant Wils in Amsterdam and has traveled a lot. When he was in Australia he got inspired to cook on open fire. So many of the dishes at Current are prepared on open fire.

On the menu you’ll find all kinds of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. You can choose your own or let the chef surprise you. I asked the chef if he could prepare me a nice vegetarian dinner. The first course I got is the dish pictured above with Jerusalem artichoke, mushrooms, egg yolk and truffle.

As a second dish I got forgotten root vegetable salsify, with almonds and kale. Because the roots where prepared on the open fire, they were super tasty.

My main dish was also super tasty because it was grilled. I had celeriac with mustard and lemon. I also loved the plating of this dish. The chef came to our table to pour the sauce on my plate.
You can also ask for fitting wines with each dish, to maximize your experience.

For dessert I had this tarte tatin with quince and ice cream. I love the taste of caramelized warm fruit!
With our coffee and tea afterwards we also had some delicious madeleines with smoked caramel and burnt lemon curd.

I think the Current Rooftop Restaurant is a great choice for a dinner date with your significant other or with a group of friends. It’s stylish, the service is super friendly and the food is delicious.
The Current Rooftop Bar is also a great place for a date if you just want to go for drinks (with perhaps some bar bites).
