Glamping in the South of France at Domaine de la Bergerie

During our road trip in the South of France we stayed at a beautiful camping near St Tropez. The campsite was called Domaine de la Bergerie and it’s part of Les Castels Campings. Les Castels has 4 or 5 star campings all over France that are all very unique. It started in 1959 with one campsite on the estate of a castle (hence the name) and now Les Castels has 33 luxury campsites at unique locations. And not only the locations are unique, the accommodations are as well. You can for example float on the water or sleep in a tree house.

Domaine de la Bergerie is one of those unique campsites. It’s a 5 star camping on a beautiful estate with much green, beautiful views and all the facilities you’ll need. On the hilly terrain of 60 acres you’ll find campsites and cottages. I absolutely love camping and I’ve done it almost every summer when I was a child. My partner however isn’t a big fan. He misses the comfort when he’s staying in a tent and especially when it’s very warm or very cold he dislikes it. We found the perfect solution: we hired a cottage on the campsite!

At Domaine de la Bergerie they have several sizes of cottages, depending on the amount of people that will stay. We had a lovely cottage with our own porch. There was a table and chairs on the porch to have breakfast or dinner (or to play boardgames of course) and we also had 2 sun beds. We had a beautiful view from our porch. Especially at sunset or early in the morning I loved watching it with a cup of tea. It’s very relaxed and a whole different experience than waking up in a busy city.

Inside the cottage we had everything we needed; a living room with airconditioning, a kitchen, a toilet, a bathroom and 2 bedrooms. Even though we had all the luxury and comfort, it still felt really cosy and romantic. And I can imagine that it’s great to go there when you have kids. It makes the whole camping experience stress-free.

There was a lot to do on the camping. There’s a big pool, tennis courts, a restaurant, a supermarket, a hairdresser and even a sauna and paintball area!

Upon arrival you’re greeted and helped by a lovely staff that’s willing to assist you with whatever you need. They even guided us to our cottage even though we also had a map and the roads were clearly market. The cottage was nice and clean and very complete (it even had a microwave and a dishwasher).

I totally convinced my boyfriend to go camping more often now that he had all the comfort he wanted. There was even good wifi in the cottage, so that made his stay even more pleasant.
