A new Jamies Italian restaurant is opening up!

Did you already hear the news? After the first Dutch Jamies Italian restaurant in Rotterdam, they’re opening up a second restaurant in The Hague. It’ll probably open in June or July this year!
Jamies Italian in Rotterdam just changed their menu so to I thought it was a good excuse to visit them again and check out their new menu!
They’ve got a very extensive menu with a lot more than just pasta dishes, I mean they even have (veggie) burgers!
But since their specialty is Italian food, I went for a pasta dish anyway.

But first things first: the starter. I went for this vegetarian bruschetta primavera with marinated courgette (zucchini), peas and beans with pesto and bella lodi cheese.

vegetarian gnocchi jamies italian
This was my main dish vegetarian gnocchi. I really love gnocchi (did you already see my recipe for homemade sweet potato gnocchi?). This gnocchi genovese was served with green beans, purple potato crisps, pesto, roasted pine nuts, parmesan cheese and ricotta. It tasted really well, especially the basil pesto was delicious!

Make sure you leave some room for dessert when you’re going to Jamies Italian! You can go for one of their Italian desserts like affogato (vanilla ice cream with kimbo espresso) or their tiramisu with a twist (they used vin santo instead of amaretto). Or try the polenta cake pictured above. This cornflower cake is made with orange blossom and served with creme fraiche, pomegranate seeds and fresh orange.

This dessert is like a piece of art! It’s a bowl of fresh strawberries marinated in elderflower and lemon zest, served with fresh basil, frozen yogurt and filo pastry.
