Jamie’s Pizzeria opened up in Tilburg

I think all foodies love Jamie Oliver. He’s charming, he loves good food and he’s got recipes for every occasion. What I as a teacher also really like is how he promotes healthy foods in schools. Over the last few years Jamie Oliver has opened up many restaurants all over the world. In the Netherlands you could already enjoy Jamie’s Italian in Rotterdam and the Hague.
After cities like Mumbai and Budapest, you can now also enjoy Jamie’s Pizza’s in the Netherlands!

A few weeks ago Jamie’s Pizzeria opened up in Arnhem and since this week a Jamie’s Pizzeria restaurant has opened up in my hometown Tilburg. You can find Jamie’s Pizzeria Tilburg on the Pieter Vreedeplein, right in the city center and actually only a minute away from my house. I think I’ll be eating many pizza’s in the future!
Although the pizza’s are quite filling you might want to share one of the starters if you’re hungry. They have 3 different bruschetta’s, hand-rolled garlic bread (optionally with chili and/or cheese) and the rosemary sea-salt bread pictured above.

The pizza’s at Jamie’s Pizzeria are really tasty! You can really taste the difference with the cheaper pizza places in Tilburg. The pizza’s are made from sourdough and hand stretched. There are several vegetarian options. The pizza Margherita and Quattro Formaggi of course, but also the Fiorentina with ricotta, spinach egg and Parmezan cheese and the Funghi with roasted mushrooms, mozzarella and thyme. Pictured is the Melanzane, a vegetarian pizza with tomato sauce, aubergine, buffel ricotta, Parmezan cheese and oregano.

If a whole pizza is a bit much, you can also order half a pizza with a side dish for the same prize. You could for example combine it with a salad or vegetables.
Not a big fan of pizza? There are also 3 ‘Al Forno’ oven dishes on the menu; lasagna, spinach cannelloni and Aubergine Parmigiana.

Another good reason to go for half a pizza, is that you know for sure you’ll have some room for dessert! There are four desserts on the menu of Jamie’s Pizzeria in Tilburg: Chocolate cake, sorbet ice cream, Affogato and, of course, tiramisu. We shared a Tiramisu as I was already quite full from the pizza. My plan was to have just one bite but it tasted so good that I think I ate more than half of it! I blame the chocolate shavings.

Jamie’s Pizzeria has a spacious indoor area with white, orange and blue colors. The entire front facade can open up with nice weather. At the moment they have temporary seats outside. I guess I need to come back again when they have their own outdoor seating. Good excuse, right?
