Lunch, drinks or dinner at Landgoed Huize Bergen in Vught

Many people know Landgoed Huize Bergen in Vught because it’s a beautiful wedding location and a luxurious hotel, but not that many people know that you can also go for lunch, drinks or dinner at Landgoed Huize Bergen in Vught without sleeping in the hotel or getting married. They have a wonderful terrace where you can enjoy your food and drinks outside on sunny days and an atmospheric dining room for the evenings.

Borrel

Vught is a small town near Den Bosch, it’s actually a great bike ride from Den Bosch to Landgoed Huize Bergen. So you could cycle there, have a break on their terrace and then cycle back. But Landgoed Huize Bergen is also only a 10 minute walk from the Vught train station and very easily accessible by car.
I absolutely love their ‘borrel planken’, these boards with nibbles are a feast for the eyes and the tastebuds. You can order a vegetarian one (like the one pictured) if you don’t want any meat or fish. It’s great to enjoy the big garden of Landgoed Huize Bergen while enjoying some home made nibbles.

Dinner

When the evenings are sunny, you can also have dinner outside at Landgoed Huize Bergen, but with the typical Dutch weather it’s good that they also have a cosy restaurant. As the historical building has several rooms, it’s possible to hire a room for a private event. But you can also join the other dinner guests at the general restaurant. They have a 2 or 3 course menu that changes every season and you can also order a-la-carte.

The a la carte menu also changes every season so they work with ingredients from the season. I went for the soup as a starter, which was a parsnip soup with kurkuma and almonds. My friend went for the quinoa, yellow curry, goat cheese and langoustines.

They don’t have an extensive menu at Landgoed Huize Bergen, as they want to keep the quality of their dishes high. There are 4 mains on the menu, two with meat and two with fish. But it’s always possible to order a vegetarian meal. They made this fresh ravioli served with green asparagus and grilled halloumi cheese for me and it was very tasty.

You should really save some room for dessert if you have dinner at Huize Bergen in Vught. You can choose between a cheese platter and two sweet desserts. We actually couldn’t choose between the two sweet desserts, so we ordered both and we shared. I’m glad we did this because I didn’t want to miss any of them. The dessert pictured above is with cherries, crémeux, dark chocolate and vanilla ice cream. The dessert pictured below is with the citrus fruit yuzu, coconut, raspberry and white chocolate.
