Review of the new app Musjroom

There’s a new app in town: Musjroom. Musjroom is an app that lets you book accommodation in the Netherlands. What makes Musjroom different from other platforms for booking accommodation is that it’s created for last-minute overnight stays. I’ve tested the Musjroom app, booked my accommodation via the app and stayed for a night in Amsterdam. On this page I’m sharing my review of the new app Musjroom.

When you first use the Musjroom app you might see similarities with Air BnB, but where you have to book real far in advance on Air BnB, you can reserve something for the same day on Musjroom. I’ve had it quite often that the last train didn’t run, that I wish I didn’t have to go back home when an evening is more fun than I thought or that I’m traveling and I want to stay longer in a place than I thought. For all those moments Musjroom is a great app.

If you’d use a hotel booking app for last-minute stays, you often pay a very high prize per night. Musjroom lets you book more affordable accommodation up to the day itself. You select your city and you see everything that is available nearby. The app is quite new, so there isn’t a whole lot to choose from just yet, but I’m expecting the list to grow longer soon.
You can see pictures of the accommodation and information like if it’s a private room and if there’s wifi. When you click on ‘book now’ the host has got one hour to accept your offer. When it’s accepted you’ve got one hour to pay for the accommodation. After that the host will send you the exact address, and you can use the chat function in the Musjroom app to contact your host. I found it useful to talk about check-in and breakfast times.

I used the app to book my night in Amsterdam the day before. I found an awesome place to stay: a houseboat! The houseboat was located close to the central station of Amsterdam, in a quiet neighborhood. I love spending the night in unique accommodations, so this was another great experience. The houseboat was more spacious than you might expect. There were 3 layers. The room where you enter, the wheelhouse, had a coffee and tea machine and a table with two chairs. The owner, Flip, will leave a basket with your breakfast there in the morning. The 2nd layer, one floor down, had a sofa, mini-bar and bookshelf. You could also find the toilet and shower here. If you take one more floor down you’ll find the bedroom with a cloth rack, a sink and a comfortable double bed.

The conclusion of my review is that Musjroom is an app with great potential. It might be the next big thing!
