Review Savoy Hotel Rotterdam

I’ve spend the night at the Savoy Hotel in Rotterdam. It’s a 4 star hotel in the trendy area Hoogkwartier, close to the Rotterdam Blaak train and metro station. On this page you can find my review of Savoy Hotel Rotterdam. I’m sharing practical information, my opinion and pictures of the hotel room and the hotel lobby.

Savoy Hotel Rotterdam

They Savoy Hotel Rotterdam is a 4 star hotel that opened up with this name in 2018. They’re part of the Eden Hotels group. A real family business that went from grandfather, to father, to son. The Savoy Hotel Rotterdam was the first hotel outside of Amsterdam that they opened up.
Although the 14 hotels of Eden Hotels belong to the same group, they’ve all got their own character. The way the Savoy hotel is decorated, is unique to this specific location. Besides old pictures of Rotterdam, you can see retro aspects and sixties inspired decoration in the interior.
The Savoy Hotel Rotterdam is located in the nice Hoogkwartier area. In the same street you can find several nice restaurants and wine bars. And you’re around the corner of the Markthal and the Cube Houses.
The friendly staff is more than willing to give you tips for the neighborhood.

Hotel Rooms

The retro-sixties vibe that you can see in the hotel lobby, can also be found in the rooms. There’s a green lounge chair, a rotary dial phone and even a record player that actually works.
Despite the 60’s vibe, the room has everything a modern traveler needs: free WiFi, a Nespresso machine, a walk-in shower, air conditioning and various pillows.
I slept like a rose in the soft and comfortable bed. The rooms were very clean and quiet.

Something to celebrate?

Booking a hotel room is always nice when you’ve got something to celebrate. Maybe a wedding anniversary, a Birthday or a bachelor party. If you’re celebrating something during your stay at the Savoy Hotel, you can order balloons at the Rotterdams Ballonenbedrijf. They can deliver helium to the hotelroom on a time that suits you. You don’t have to be present there, the hotel staff can put them in the room for you. So you’ve got a nice surprise when you enter your room. Order your ballonnen in Rotterdam for during your stay!

Breakfast

As a foodie, I always find the breakfast at hotels a good way to rate them. When I stayed at the Savoy Hotel the breakfast looked a bit different than it would normally do, because of Corona measurements. I got my breakfast delivered to my hotel room, they made it vegetarian upon my request. And breakfast in bed is always a good idea, right? It was an extensive breakfast with croissants, pistolets, cheese, several sandwich toppings, eggs, yogurt, orange juice, apples, brownies and more.
Also nice; the standard check-out time is noon. So you can always sleep in when you’re staying at the Savoy Hotel in Rotterdam.
