Savory Cherry Tomato Goat Cheese tart

I love making savory tarts, they’re so easy to make and everyone loves them. You can vary endlessly in your toppings and there are so many vegetarian possibilities! This time I made a savory cherry tomato goat cheese tart. I used two different colors of cherry tomatoes, but you can of course also use one color. And if you don’t like goat cheese, you can replace it with feta.
As I said there are endless ways to top your savory tart with vegetarian ingredients!

Did you know that you can both have sweet as savory tarts? Just like with pies! There’s a small difference though between pies and tarts. It’s mainly that the crust is different. And tarts never have a top crust, just a bottom crust and low sides.

I had some left over cherry tomatoes when I created this recipe. Somehow I often have cherry tomatoes left-over. I guess it’s because I also like them as a snack, but I never finish the whole tray. If you recognize this, the cherry tomato tart recipe might also be welcome!
You only need 4 ingredients and some herbs for this savory tart. It’s a great lunch recipe, but I often serve it for dinner together with a green salad. You can use the left over cherry tomatoes in the salad too!
I recommend a sharp knife for cutting savory tarts. I used a Global knife.
This recipe serves 4 for lunch or 2 for dinner.

Recipe Savory Cherry Tomato Tart

1 Sheet puff pastry
3 tablespoons red pesto
250 grams cherry tomatoes, cut in half
50 grams goat cheese, crumbled
Oregano

Rocket
50 grams cherry tomatoes
1 tablespoon Balsamic vinegar

Pre-heat the oven to 180C. Roll out the puff pastry sheet, cover with the red pesto, leave 1cm of every edge free. Fold the edge over so you get a crust.
Divide the cherry tomatoes over the crust. Sprinkle with the goat cheese and some oregano.
Bake the cherry tomato goat cheese tart for 20-25 minutes.

Mix the ingredients for the salad and serve with the savory tart.
