Valentine’s Day: Valentine Grazing Board

I made a Valentine Grazing Board for Valentine’s Day. I’m sure there’s no shorter way to one’s heart than with food. And even better: with sweets! I made this Valentine’s grazing board with all kinds of chocolate and candy that are all perfect for Valentine’s Day. From heart shaped chocolate to pink colored cookies. On this page I’m telling you all the details about how I made this grazing board.

Before I’m telling you all about what I put on this Valentine grazing board, it’s good to say that you can of course put whatever you want on your board! It’s also nice to make a more healthy version with strawberries or a savory version with cheese and crackers.
I went for this sweet grazing board as my boyfriend loves chocolate and other sweets. I put a combination of store bought and home made sweets on my serving platter and arranged them in the shape of a heart. I served it with a glass of bubbles and some rose petals.

My Valentine’s Day Grazing Board

Below I’ll explain what I put on my Valentine grazing board.
On the bottom you see ‘roze koeken’ these pink cakes are very popular in the Netherlands. The best-known brand is Glace and the ‘pink cookies’ are more like flat cakes with a layer of pink fondant.
The pink hearts that you see above them are made with ruby chocolate. I melted the pink chocolate au-bain-marie and poured it in a silicone heart shaped tray. I put the tray in the fridge for about an hour to set.
In the center you see the Red Velvet chocolate from Hands Off my Chocolate and some dried red fruit that I still had at home. On the right you see two bars of Kinder chocolate.
On the left you see the Snow Oreo Cookies that I decorated myself. The Oreo cookies are available in the supermarket and already have the white layer over them. I made an edible glue of powdered sugar and a bit of water and covered the top half of the Oreo cookies with it. After that I sprinkled some heart shaped sprinkles over that half. I also used those sprinkles to decorate the grazing board some more.
At the top left of the board you see the heart shaped chocolates from Milka that are in the I Love Milka boxes. And on the top right you see some heart shaped candy that I found at the candy isle of my supermarket.
