I recently got a waffle iron and I can’t wait to share all kinds of waffle recipes with your. The first waffle recipe I’m sharing with you are these vegan & gluten-free chickpea flour waffles. As all recipes on my blog, these waffles are also sugar-free. The waffles are super easy to make as you’ll only need three ingredients.
Who doesn’t like waffles for breakfast? I think waffles and pancakes are probably everyone’s favorite breakfast dishes. These chickpea flour waffles make a perfect breakfast!
The healthy waffles are suitable for vegans, there’s no eggs, milk or any other animal-based products used for this waffle recipe. Besides, chickpea flour is gluten-free, so it’s suitable for people with celiac disease or have another reason for a gluten-free diet.
The waffles are around 100 calories each.
I wanted to have a waffle iron for a long time, because I really wanted to make waffles at home. But most waffle irons are quite big and it’s another household appliance that I would have to store in my kitchen cabinets.
But then I discovered the 3-in-1 multi-grill from Tomado. It’s a compact waffle iron and you can switch the plates for a grilled cheese sandwich toaster and for grill plates. So you’ll only need 1 product for all three options. I used the multi-grill to make these gluten-free and vegan chickpea flour waffles.
Recipe chickpea flour waffles
Ingredients (for 4 waffles)
90 grams chickpea flour
1 teaspoons baking powder
150 ml water
1 tablespoons olive oil
Coconut oil for greasing
Preheat your waffle iron. Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix for 2 minutes with a mixer.
Put some coconut oil on the waffle iron.
Use a sauce spoon to pour the dough onto the waffle iron. Check the waflles after 4 minutes. Bake them for around 4-8 minutes. You can check regularly to see how they’re doing.
I made 4 waffles with this dough.
I topped the waffles banana, peanut butter, blueberries and cacao nibs.
