5 recipes with Oreos

Oreo cookies are very popular, many people love them! I love Oreos too, but I use them more in dishes than I eat them regularly. On this page I’ve listed 5 recipes with Oreos. From snacks to dessert, this page shows that you can make so many things with Oreo cookies! Besides the sugar that is present in the cookies themselves, I didn’t add any sugars or other sweeteners to these recipes. And did you know that Oreo cookies are vegan? Except for the Oreo brownies, all recipes on this page are suitable for vegans.

Oreo Brownies

Mix 1 banana, 1 egg, 1/3 cup (75 ml) (almond)milk, 1 ts baking powder, 1 tbs cacao and 6 tbs oatmeal in a food processor. Spoon in 2 tablespoons of cacao nibs. Fill 5 muffin tins with the mixture. Crumble 2 Oreo cookies over the muffins. Bake for 15 minutes on 200C/400F.

Vegan Oreo Pie

Put 2 packages of Oreo cookies in a food processor until crumbled. Set 2tbs aside to use for decoration. Mix the cookie crumbles with 60 grams of margarine. Line a pie plate with baking paper and cover the bottom and the sides of the plate with the cookie mixture. Put the pie crust in the fridge while you make the filling.
Melt 300 grams dark chocolate au-bain-marie. Put 600 grams silken tofu, and 1 tbs vanilla essence in a food processor and blend until smooth. Carefully spoon in the chocolate.
Fill the prepared pie crust with the chocolate mixture and put in the fridge to firm. If you have time, it’s best to make this pie a day in advance so the pie is nicely firmed. If you make the pie on the day itself, put it in the fridge for at least 4 hours.

Vegan Oreo Pancakes

Mix 125 ml plant-based milk, 1/2 banana, 50 grams oatmeal and 1 tbs cacao in a food processor or in a blender. Crumble 3 Oreo cookies and add them to the food processor as well.
Warm some coconut oil in a pan. Use a sauce spoon to create equally big pancakes. Bake the pancakes for about 2 minutes on each side. You’ll be able to make about 6 pancakes from the batter.
Spread a bit of vegan quark or yogurt on 5 pancakes and pile them all up. Put the 6th pancake on top. Top it with a bit of the remaining quark. Crumble the last Oreo cookie on top for decoration. I served mine with some fresh raspberries, because the flavor and color go great with these Oreo pancakes.

Oreo Trifle

This vegan Oreo Trifle is super easy to make. All you need is (unsweetened) soy yogurt, Oreo cookies and strawberries.
Put 2 cookies per person in a Ziploc bag and crush them with a rolling pin. Chop a handful of strawberries.
Put 2 big tablespoons of the soy yogurt in a glass, cover with half of the strawberries and top with the crushed Oreo’s. Keep 1 tablespoon of crushed Oreo cookies aside. Repeat with a layer of yogurt and strawberries and sprinkle the of the Oreo cookies on top.

Chocolate Mousse Garden

Twist 8 Oreo cookies so you’ve got 2 halfs. Scrape the cream filling off the cookies. Put all the cookies in a Ziplock bag and all the cream in a food processor. Add 2 ripe bananas, 2 ripe avocados and 4 tbs cacao powder to the food processor as well. Put the chocolate mousse in 4 glasses. Using a rolling pin (or another heavy object) you can crush the oreo cookies. Crumble these on top of the chocolate mousse to create the ‘earth’ layer. Put the glasses in the fridge until serving. Right before serving, put 4 mint leaves in the glasses to create a mini plant.
