My favorite hotel in Crete: Sunday Life Apartments

This summer we went to the Greek island Crete for a week. One of our friends got married to a Greek girl so we had a wedding on Crete. During this week we stayed at Sunday Life Hotel in Agia Pelagia, close to Heraklion in the North of Crete.
Sunday Life is a very colorful building on top of a hill overlooking the sea. It’s within walking distance from the beach and the restaurants of Agia Pelagia and only a 20 minute drive to Heraklion. Sunday Life Hotel as a pool, sun beds and spacious rooms with airconditioning. They offer a shuttle service to the airport in Heraklion for €20,-.

The best part of Sunday Life is probably the food. They serve a delicious Cretan breakfast with fresh orange juice, omelets, Greek yogurt, tomatoes and feta cheese. You can enjoy your breakfast with beautiful views over Agia Pelagia and the sea. And another great thing: they serve breakfast until noon, so you don’t even need to get up early!

They also serve lunch and dinner at the restaurant of Sunday Life. On the menu you’ll find delicious bread with tzatziki, the well-known Greek salad with tomatoes and feta cheese and many other dishes. They work with organic products from local farms and the service is amazing. Everybody that works a Sunday Life is very friendly.
The only downside: the wifi quality isn’t very good.

As I said, we were on Crete for the wedding of our friends. They married outside, next to a little church in Agia Pelagia and after the ceremony we had dinner and a party on the beach. We’ve literally danced the night away, as we didn’t go back to the hotel until 6am. It was such an amazing experience. I was wearing a blue dress from Kocca, bought at Anna van Toor, with blue heels from Unisa.

If you ever go to Crete, I absolutely recommend Sunday Life. You can reserve your room at Sunday Life Hotels here.
